The installation consisted of a found object and a white painted space. 3m x 2m x 2m (size of the object)
A big branch of a dead tree was used as a part of the installation. The branch was suspended by using a cotton string. The branch was optically floating in the air, creating a strange sensation to the viewer, feeling that solid object is lighter than a gas. A manipulation of physical qualities of the objects was the key part of the installation. The whole room was painted white for the same reason. We often come across white rooms but usually, a floor colour is much darker. Floors are created this way in order to comfort human natural scenes and copy a visual quality of natural grounds. The pure white floor made viewers feel differently about the space they were in and increase the effect of an optical illusion that was created by floating object, therefore creating a playground for thoughts.
The work was exhibited at Middlesex University London, April 2016.
